About News Lens

News Lens Pakistan is a news cooperative for the benefit of journalists, news outlets, and the people of Pakistan. Its aim is to create, publish and distribute high-quality content throughout the country and to the rest of the world. In the process of creating that content, News Lens will improve the skills and raise the standards for Pakistani journalists, wherever they may be. Its members benefit from identification with this professional, nonpartisan, national news outlet, via its professional training opportunities as well as wide distribution of their best content.

Media Foundation 360 is a nonprofit founded in 2013 to assist Pakistani journalists in improving their skills and to work with all media in Pakistan to raise standards. Media Foundation 360 was chosen as the lead partner for the grant-funded project which created News Lens. Media 360 provides staff support and financial services for News Lens, and the president of Media 360, Mubasher Bukhari, is Executive Editor of News Lens.

Editors for News Lens are Fatima Ali in Lahore, Aurangzaib Khan in Peshawar, and Hasan Khan in Islamabad. Photographer Matiullah Achakzai is based in Chaman, Balochistan.

Bytes for All supports News Lens with logistics and citizen networking through its field officers. The News Lens Islamabad office is housed with Bytes for All.
